The Zanzibar Gathering isn't just another festival or a regular getaway — it's something truly unique. It's a moment where people who share the same love for music come together in one place.

For the 4th time, we gather from every corner of the globe on this beautiful island to recharge — dancing, smiling, and soaking in the magic of paradise beneath the sun.
The experience blends daytime beach parties, late-night club sessions, and special adventures like sandbank escapes and secret island expeditions. There's all the time you need to lose yourself on the dance floor, while still having space to explore the wonders of Zanzibar. Ready to join us?

This project is a collaboration between
Butik, Lighthouse and Why?Not.
The program is designed to balance main events with optional extra experiences, with days off in between to rest and explore the island. You'll enjoy both daytime and nighttime gatherings, and can shape the gathering to match your own wishes and pace.
We kick off the 2026 Gathering at Why?Not Club, now in its fourth season and gaining recognition in the underground scene.
With a top-notch sound system, wooden floors perfect for barefoot dancing, and large windows overlooking the ocean, the venue offers an unmatched atmosphere. At high tide, waves splash against the windows, and as the sun rises, light filters through the curtains — pure magic.
We start gathering outdoors in the late afternoon to check in and exchange wristbands. At 10 PM, the music moves inside the club.
Location: Why?Not Club
A day to rest and explore the island.
Time for the first extra experience — Secret Island. This movie-scene-like adventure takes place at the site of an abandoned restaurant on a small, uninhabited island — the perfect spot to dance and connect.
We leave Paje early in the morning (around 8 AM, exact time TBD) by bus and then by boat, returning in the evening (around 8 PM).
Food and drinks at the Secret Island are included. Capacity is limited, and tickets are sold separately.
Read more about the Secret Island experience in the Info A-Z section.
After returning to Paje, we will continue with a club night at Why?Not, which is included in all Zanzibar Gathering tickets.
Time to rest and explore the island.
Tiki Beach, the official base of the Zanzibar Gathering, features a poolside area where we'll start with a pool party that flows into an outdoor party under the palm trees until morning.
Location: Tiki Beach Resort
Time to rest and explore the island.
The second extra experience is the Sandbank — an adventure on a tiny sandy island that shrinks as the tide rises.
We leave Paje early in the morning (around 7:30 AM, exact time TBD) by bus and then by boat, returning in the evening (around 8 PM).
Food and drinks at the sandbank are included. Capacity is limited, and tickets are sold separately.
Read more about the Sandbank experience in the Info A-Z section.
We'll wrap up the Gathering at the Masai Mara villa in Jambiani — a cozy venue where everyone can enjoy the day in their own way: on the dancefloor, in the pool, relaxing on the lounges, or all of the above.
Location: Masai Mara Villa
Please note that while we'll do our best to follow the planned program and dates, changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances or factors beyond our control.
Tiki Beach Resort is our official accommodation partner. It sits directly on the beach, within walking distance of the Why?Not Club and Paje's main beach. The resort can host up to 60 guests and will be booked exclusively for our community during the Gathering. It will serve as our base: yoga classes will take place here, and we'll also host the Friday event on site.
Rooms are nicely furnished, clean, and well maintained. A generous breakfast is included, every room has AC, and the property has a large generator—so ACs and water pumps keep running even during Zanzibar's occasional power outages. The pool is fantastic.
The resort is very spacious, so even when it's full you'll still find quiet corners to relax. And if you're feeling social, you can always grab a seat at the bar, strike up a conversation, and make new friends.
Stay Dates
Accommodation at Tiki Beach can only be booked for the full Gathering: 2-10 February (8 nights).
*The first event is on 2 February and the closing villa party is on 9 February, so the earliest recommended check-out is 10 February.
Extra nights (before or after the Gathering) can be added at the same nightly rate, subject to availability.
Breakfast is included in the price.

How to Book
Email info@butikfestival.com with your preferred room type and your exact check-in and check-out dates.
We don't organize airport shuttles, so we recommend taking a taxi from the airport to your accommodation. Before the event, we'll share taxi driver contacts with ticket holders and create a communication channel for all attendees to connect and arrange transfers together.
Zanzibar Gathering takes place in smaller venues and is designed for 350 participants. However, extra experiences (Sandbank & Secret Island) have even more limited capacity.
The event at Tiki Beach has a larger capacity and is also open to other island visitors.
Daily tickets for the Tiki Beach event will be available at the door. For other events, tickets will be available only if they are not sold out.
Tickets for extra experiences (Sandbank & Secret Island) cannot be purchased separately and must be combined with a main Zanzibar Gathering ticket.
One of the most talked-about highlights is the Sandbank party — and for good reason. Imagine dancing to our favorite DJs on a small sandy island that gets even smaller as the tide rises, leaving just before it disappears beneath the waves.
We will start the trip from Paje on Sunday, 8 February 2026, early in the morning (around 7:30 AM, exact time TBD). First, we take a bus to Stone Town, then board boats to the sandbank. We depart before sunset, take the bus back to Paje, and return around 8 PM.
Food and drinks at the sandbank are included in the price.
Please note: all extra experiences have limited capacity, are sold separately, and are not included in the general Gathering ticket. They are exclusively available to Zanzibar Gathering attendees — you must have a regular Gathering ticket to join.

The Gathering spans 8 days with multiple events at various locations. While the focus is on musical events, the program is designed to balance main events with optional extra experiences, along with three rest days to explore the island or simply relax and enjoy the sun. You'll experience both daytime and nighttime events and can shape the Gathering to match your own wishes and pace.
The events will take place in Bwejuu, Paje, and Jambiani, all situated on the southeastern coast of Zanzibar.

Main events are those included in the Zanzibar Gathering ticket.
The Sandbank and Secret Island experiences are not part of the main events and are sold separately.
Apps offering eSIM options, like Airalo, don't work well in Zanzibar. However, mobile internet with a regular SIM card works fine, so we recommend getting a local SIM card, which is also the most affordable option.
Most accommodations offer free Wi-Fi, and many beachfront bars and restaurants provide reliable connections and welcome digital nomads.
If you're planning a workation, this is a great place to consider — the time zone is only 2 hours ahead of most of Europe.
We'll organize yoga sessions for participants — nothing feels better than a good stretch after a night out. More details will be announced closer to the event.
If you're up for something extra, Paje is a famous kiting spot, so you can take lessons. You can also join one of the island tours or simply relax on the beach.
If you have the time and want to make this trip truly exceptional, consider visiting the mainland.
Tanzania is home to some of the world's best safari experiences, where you can encounter the Big Five, and boasts Africa's highest peak — Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 meters.
There are plenty of car taxis, tuktuks and motorcycle taxis (called boda boda) available for travel between venues and accommodations. We'll share taxi driver contacts with ticket holders before the event.
Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of cancellation.
As we get closer to the event, we will launch a resale platform where you can safely resell your ticket if you're unable to attend.
Please read the full Ticket Terms & Conditions here.
Most visitors to Tanzania (including Zanzibar) need a visa — either an e-Visa (recommended) or a Visa on Arrival. The cost is usually USD 50 for a single-entry tourist visa (USD 100 for US passport holders). Your passport must be valid for at least six months after arrival and have at least one blank page.
As of October 1, 2024, Zanzibar requires all visitors to purchase Mandatory Inbound Travel Insurance from the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (USD 44 per person, valid for up to 92 days).
For yellow fever vaccination, please check the requirements for your country, as a certificate is mandatory if arriving from certain destinations.
We will set up a WhatsApp group for event communication and for attendees to connect, share airport shuttles, taxis, accommodations, or simply chat. Ticket holders will be informed about the group info through email.
